The EV76C660 and EV76C661 are the newest members of Teledyne e2v's Ruby family of CMOS imaging sensors. These breakthrough devices provide sensitivity and performance beyond that considered possible on a front side illuminated sensor with a pixel size of 5.3μm, Quantum Efficiency (QE) of over 80% and excellent sensitivity and performance in the near-infrared (NIR) spectrum (>50% at 850nm). This significantly reduces system illumination costs, or enables very low-light imaging in outdoor camera applications. The EV76C660 and EV76C661 share the same package, pin-out and software interface as Teledyne e2v's Sapphire family of imaging sensors, enabling them to provide a range of differentiated industrial camera products from a single hardware and software development effort.

Because the Basler ace GigE camera uses the same 29 x 29 mm footprint that has been standard on analog cameras for many years, replacement of analog cameras is easy. Some existing Camera Link cameras and IEEE 1394a or 1394b cameras with this same footprint can also be easily replaced.
 
Using a Power over Ethernet (“PoE”) configuration, a single cable may be used to apply camera power and to transfer data between this camera and a PC, keeping cable runs to a minimum. There are also “chunk” features that include a frame counter, time stamp, trigger input counter, and CRC checksum calculator. Because this camera is GigE Vision and GenICam compliant, there are many third party software applications and API’s that are compatible. Basler offers their royalty-free Pylon SDK for 32 and 64 bit Windows and Linux platforms.

The EV76C661 is a new member of e2v’s Ruby family of CMOS imaging sensors. This breakthrough device provides sensitivity and performance beyond that considered possible on a front side illuminated sensor with a pixel size of 5.3 μm, Quantum Efficiency (QE) of about 70%, and excellent sensitivity and performance in the near-infrared (NIR) spectrum (>40% at 850nm).
