On December 8, 2022, SmartSens Technology (Shanghai) Co., LTD (Shanghai Stock Exchange code: 688213) announced the launch of its first linear CMOS image sensor (CIS), the SC430LA. 4K resolution, high speed, BSI (backlighting) SC430LA image sensor using proprietary technologies such as SmartSens SmartGS@-2 and analog circuits, featuring trilinear color mode, 32x analog gain, high stability, high precision, low noise, high line speed and more. Fast, high-quality, detail-rich visual output of an all-weather industrial linear scanning camera.

With the continuous development of intelligent manufacturing, more and more automated production lines are being introduced into industrial CIS to improve production efficiency and quality. Industrial CIS for automated production lines need to operate around the clock in hazardous environments such as high temperature, dust, corrosion, etc., providing stable, accurate and reliable image data. The SC430LA is equipped with advanced analog circuits to achieve up to 32 times analog gain. Higher gain makes the image brighter, which requires a reduction in light source brightness, which reduces heat generation and improves the efficiency of the entire machine vision system. This helps machine vision systems continuously capture real-time, reliable image data with high stability. The BSI SC430LA image sensor using SmartGS@-2 has a quantum efficiency (QE) of up to 77% at 500nm, 10% higher than the industry's equivalent resolution linear CIS, enabling accurate 4K visual output in low light conditions.

 

In addition, SmartSens' proprietary ultra-low noise readout circuit and upgraded color processing technology make the SC430LA excellent in noise control and color reproduction. The fixed mode noise (FPN) and optical response inhomogeneity (PRNU) of the SC430LA are reduced to 0.28e and 0.53%, respectively. The SC430LA's dark current (DC) is 51% lower than the industry's equivalent resolution linear CIS. These factors make the SC430LA image acquisition quality is improved, the color accuracy is higher, the image detail is richer, fully meet the production line for high-precision CIS needs.

SC430LA is divided into monochrome and color versions, monochrome version supports 1 line, 2 line and 3 line mode, of which the monochrome SC430LA can reach 100KHz in 3 line mode, equivalent to the industry's 2-line mode linear CIS with the same resolution. The monochrome SC430LA can reach a maximum line speed of 200KHz in single line mode, which can greatly improve the detection efficiency of line scan cameras and effectively support the upgrade of industrial inspection industry. The color version SC430LA supports both two-line mode and three-line mode, and the three-line color mode can further improve the picture quality, retain more image details, restore realistic image colors, and output clear full-color images.

The SC430LA also features low supply voltages of 1.8V and 3.3V, enabling customers to achieve optimized power distribution in a more cost-effective manner.
